Karen Smalley
Karen is a graduate of CPT's in-house training program and has passed with honors all of CPT's behavioral and obedience training examinations. She has trained for CPT for the past 10 years. Prior to working for CPT, Karen worked as an educator in the Georgia public school system after her graduation from Oglethorpe University. Karen has owned two Border Collies, Abby and Casey. Karen and Abby completed their AKC Companion Dog (CD) title with scores that included several placements and one first place finish. While achieving their Novice title, Karen and Casey accomplished 3 first place finishes including a score of 198 (out of a possible 200 points), which tied them for High-In-Trial. Karen and Casey completed their Open (CDX) title with three consecutive first place finishes and a high score of 198. On average, competitors require 13 trials to achieve their three open legs. Karen and Casey accomplished the feat with a perfect three out of three with all first place finishes. During January 2006, Karen and Casey added to their accomplishments by completing their AKC Utility (UD) title with 3 first place finishes. Abby and Casey have also been CPT's trick demonstration dogs. Karen teaches group class at CPT's Cumming and Sandy Springs locations and performs In-Home Private Lessons for CPT.
